Broadband Trends
High speed connections have become the norm throughout the US and the world making streaming video advertisements a much more effective medium for selling your product to a global audience. Quite simply, the opportunity to promote your product to a National or Global market using broadcast quality web commercials has never been better, and it is only going to become more obvious. Read the figures for yourself.
According to Nielsen's Net Ratings close to 135 million net users in the US now have high speed connections. And the trend toward high speed connections will continue at an ever increasing rate. Currently 76% of active net users in the US have broadband access. “This continuing increase in broadband use is an essential step in a maturing Internet industry,” said Charles Buchwalter, vice president of client analytics, Nielsen//Nitratings“. Compared with their narrowband counterparts, broadband users spend more time and money online because their surfing experience is faster, more persistent, and ultimately, more satisfying. This is good news for consumers, publishers and advertisers alike,” he continued.
Obviously the trend toward high speed connections is continuing. Companies that recognize what's taking place and take proactive steps to benefit from the obvious changes will no doubt thrive in this new millennium.
